lutsen family vaca 2014

Lutsen isn't a place to me anymore - it's a memory. It's the feeling of nostalgia, it's a painted picture of a beautiful blue ocean lake, it's family, it's love, it's a tradition, it's the best place on this earth.

Every year since I was young my family has road tripped up the North Shore to a cabin in the woods overlooking the most wonderful lake ever. Even when we moved to Duluth we continued this memory, because it's still so different. Everything you see there is picture worthy, memory worthy, a view that is somewhere between the feeling of wanting to snooze on the shore and reading books all day long.

Getting to see this place every year with my family means the world to me. Life is so fast paced, busy, insane, chaotic, time consuming, you name it, but we will never stop making time for that long trip to the shore. This year I decided to not focus so much on taking pictures, but to spend time together. Although each year we have a "reason" we wouldn't all be back together the next (but we all do anyway!) you can never take advantage of these moments together. iPhone pictures + the amazing VSCO app plus the bond of 10 family members will do quite well.
